Surf Club is a group styled 8-week program that runs from the beginning September through the fall Thanksgiving break. Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or just getting started, this club is a fantastic way to stay active, improve your skills, and connect with fellow surfers!
How it Works
Ages 7-16
Surf Club meets at La Jolla Shores every Saturday morning from 10:00am – 11:30am.
Small Groups

To ensure a comfortable and supportive environment, Surf Diva Surf School maintains consistent groups and instructors throughout the fall Surf Club session. This familiarity helps kids feel more at ease in the water, fostering a positive learning experience. Our instructor-to-student ratios are designed to maximize individual attention: 1:3 for ages 7-8 and 1:4 for ages 9 and up. This ensures each child receives the guidance and support they need to build confidence and improve their surfing skills.
Equipment
Surfboard & Wetsuit
Surf Club is ideal for surfers who already have their own gear, including wetsuits and booties if needed. While participants must bring their own equipment, Surf Diva Surf School offers surfboard rentals at an additional fee of $120 for the 8-week session ($15 per session). Perfect for those looking to join a surf community while enjoying flexible gear options!

The Surf Club is an 8-week commitment, and once enrolled, no refunds or store credits will be issued. Please note that Surf Club is a group surf session, not private lessons. If your child requires more personalized attention, we recommend booking a private surf lesson to better meet their needs.
In the event of rain, Surf Club sessions may be postponed. If a session is postponed, a makeup session will be added at the end of the program. Only the Camp Director has the authority to cancel a session due to weather or surf conditions, typically making the decision on the morning of the session. Postponement occurs if rainfall reaches 0.5 inches or more within 24 hours.
Please note that no other absences will be rescheduled, and makeup sessions are only offered for weather-related cancellations.

Can I do Drop-in sessions
Surf Club is a full 8-week commitment. We do not offer drop in classes for Surf Club
How Cold is the water in non summer months?
The fall usually offers water temperate in the low 70s. As we get deeper into October, the water will eventually drop into the lower 60s.
Is my Child skilled enough to be apart of Surf Club?
Yes! We do not have a pre requisite for joining Surf Club. Beginner – Advanced are welcome. 🙂
What thickness wetsuit would you recommend?
We always recommend kids wearing 4/3 wetsuit, even in the warmer months. As soon as kids get cold they want to leave! It’s always better to be a little too warm than cold.
If my child does not want to continune, can I receive a refund?
Unfortunately we cannot refund once the session has started. If you are unsure if your child will enjoy it, try booking a private lesson with us first.
