If you book multiple people in a private lesson, no other individuals outside of your party will be added to your lesson. If you book over 5 people in your lesson, an additional instructor will be added to the lesson. Our maximum instructor to student ratio is 1:5.

What to Expect in a 90 Minute Private Lesson
In a 90-minute private lesson with Surf Diva, you’ll receive personalized instruction tailored to you (or your private party’s) skill level, whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine advanced techniques. The lesson typically starts with a brief on-land session, where your instructor will cover essential skills like paddling, popping up, and reading waves. You’ll then head into the water for hands-on coaching, focusing on building confidence, improving balance, and mastering wave-riding techniques. Expect a supportive and fun environment, with constant feedback to help you progress at your own pace.
When’s the best time to surf?Do you have special dietary options?
Yes, we offer an array of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. If you have other dietary requirements, please inform your server, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
When is the Best Time of Day to Surf?
Morning/Mid Morning: This is often the best time to surf because the wind is usually calm creating smooth, clean waves. When booking a lesson notice we typically offer lessons in-between the hours of 9:00am – 2:00pm. Plus, mornings offers cooler crisp air that make for a beautiful and peaceful experience.
Can I order food for takeout or delivery?
Absolutely! You can order online through our website or by calling us. We offer both takeout and delivery within a specific radius.
Can I bring my own wine, and is there a corkage fee?
We do not allow guests to bring their own wine, beer, or spirits to our restaurant. We have an extensive beverage menu, including a wide selection of wines, beers, and cocktails for you to enjoy.

Beginner Lessons
La Jolla Shores is San Diego’s best “Learn to Surf” beach. It’s fun consistent surf offers a great year-round experience for all levels. What makes it so special? Unlike other beaches is San Diego, La Jolla Shores has a long flat sandbar underneath the water. This allows your instructor to stand so they can be close to you at all times. Flat sandbars give a boost to safety and surf coaching.
Already know the basics? La Jolla Shores offers more than tiny surf. At the south end of the beach, La Jolla Shores is protected from large surf by La Jolla Cove. The farther you walk up the beach the larger the surf gets. La Jolla Shores is the only beach in San Diego that offers different size surf for different levels.
