La Jolla Surf Camp in San Diego has been teaching kids and teens how to surf in an encouraging and fun environment since 1999. At Surf Diva, we pride ourselves on providing an inclusive, and educational environment where children of all skill levels can thrive. Our team of experienced instructors are not only passionate about surfing but also dedicated to ensuring each camper builds confidence, improves their skills, and most importantly, have a blast!
What to Expect at HOLIDAY SURF Camp
Daily Land Lesson
Before hitting the water, our land lessons build the foundational knowledge every surfer needs. Each day covers topics like ocean safety, rip currents, and wave mechanics, focusing on confidence, balance, and surf environment awareness. These interactive lessons are tailored to all skill levels, ensuring you’re prepared and excited to ride the waves!
Surf Sessions
Each half-day program features two surf sessions aimed at improving your skills. Beginners focus on essentials like paddling, popping up, and riding waves, with personalized coaching to build confidence. Experienced surfers work on advanced techniques such as wave selection, turning, and enhancing stamina.
Beach Games
We believe that learning to surf should be as fun as it is educational, which is why we incorporate a variety of beach games into our summer surf camps. These games are designed to build confidence, encourage teamwork, and add an extra layer of excitement to the camp experience. They also help campers connect and make lasting friendships.
Fomie Surfboards
At Surf Diva, we provide foamie surfboards to every surfer in our camp to ensure an encouraging, fun, and effective learning experience for surfers of all levels. Foamie boards, with their soft exterior and stable design, are particularly well-suited for beginners and intermediate surfers, as they make it easier to catch and balance on waves while minimizing the risk of injury.
Age Groups
Rashguards keep our surf camps organized and enhance the participant experience. Each group is assigned a specific rashguard color based on skill level or age, making it easy for instructors and participants to identify teams at a glance. This simple system ensures smooth operations and fosters a sense of belonging within the camp.
Beach Breaks
Mid-session breaks are all about reapplying sunscreen, staying hydrated, and enjoying fun games on the sand. Most kids bring a packed snack or lunch to refuel during this time. These breaks provide a chance to relax, bond with fellow campers, and recharge before heading back into the water for more surfing fun! 🌊🌊🌊

Our instructors are all lifeguard certified and ocean experienced. Aside from being excellent surfers themselves, they go through extensive training at Surf Diva surf school. Our focus is on teaching young surfers ocean awareness and improving one’s surfing skills while building self-confidence for all students.
Surf Diva is a proudly permitted business operating in the City of San Diego, adhering to all local regulations and requirements. Our permits ensure that we provide a professional, and compliant environment for all our surf lessons, camps, and activities.
CaNcelation Policy
Cancellations and refunds can only be done through the original confirmation email.To cancel or reschedule your booking, please use the green “Manage this Booking” button located in your confirmation email.To receive a refund, cancellation must be made 1 WEEK prior to the start of camp. Refunds cannot be done over the phone.
FIBERGLASS & EPOXY SURFBOARDS
Camp runs in a group setting and safety is our utmost priority. We recommend all campers use soft-top surfboards. However, if you want your child using their own hard board we will first need to assess your child’s ability to hold onto their surfboard in the ocean. Ocean conditions will also play a factor. Conditions must be approved daily by the camp directors before each surf session. Please keep in mind that surf camp runs in a GROUP setting so there will be other surfing kids close by to your child.
If you do not feel confident that your child can hold onto their surf board at ALL TIMES in ALL conditions please do not bring a hard surf board to camp. We want to make sure all campers have a fun and encouraging experience in the ocean. 🙂
Fine Print
- Registration is based on a first come first serve service. If the week you’re looking to join is sold out, you can add yourself to a waitlist using the “BOOK CAMP” button.
- If you are added to a waitlist we will notify you via text if a spot opens up.
- All camps run Monday – Friday. No splitting weeks.
- We do not pro-rate or negotiate prices.
- There is no discount or refund for missed days of camp for any reason.
- We do not take any sign-ups Monday morning before camp starts.
- Every camp needs a minimum of 4 students in order to run.
- All rates include the surfboard rental.
- Wetsuit rental is not included in the rates. Wetsuit rentals are available for rent at the Surf Diva Surf Shop.
- We strongly suggest you book your weeks of camp in advance. Camps will sell out.

Our Holiday Camps are the perfect way for kids to enjoy the waves, improve their surf skills, and make lifelong memories. Each day is packed with fun and learning in a grom-friendly, supportive environment. Each Surf Diva surf camp includes a surfboard and rashguard, wetsuits are available for $20 for the 2 days.

Start the day with stretches and safety tips.
Two Surf Sessions
